Shipping is such a multilayered thing too.

You can ship characters for happily ever afters, sure, you can ship them for tragically-then-happily, you can ship two or three or four or more, you can ship endless combinations of personality types and relationship dynamics

but you can also ship characters under very specific circumstances, or for a certain period of their life but not for all of it, or only in a certain universe. You might say “I ship these characters” and what you mean is you think they are fascinating together and could have a story together. That story could be any kind of story.

Sometimes it means you want them together for the rest of their lives. Sometimes it means something different than that.

I don’t know about you, but for me, “I ship it” means “There is a story in this ship and I am interested in that story.”

for me, “I ship it” means “There is a story in this ship and I am interested in that story.”

Thank you for articulating this. Yes. Exactly.

The film was originally set to have an much darker tone, essentially poking fun at the original series… Shaggy was set to be a stoner, Velma and Daphne had a side relationship, and there were many marijuana references.

Hi, I am currently a student struggling to get all my work done in a timely fashion. The piece of assessment I am currently working on is an interview/essay for my Islam in the Modern World class. However anxiety has held me back from conducting these interviews despite my having visited the Multi Faith center on campus several times as there is either no one there at all or so many people there I end up feeling overwhelmed and guilty at the thought of interrupting anybody.

So instead I have decided to conduct my interviews online. Please if you are Muslim it would help my greatly if you answered this Online Survey. It’s less then 20 questions so it shouldn’t take to long, answer as honestly as you can on your personal perspectives and views. I have tried to keep the questions as neutral as possible for this purpose. Go into as much detail for the answers as you like as well, there is no limit to how much you may want to put.

Thank you so much for your help!! I only need 5 responses so as soon as I get those I will close the survey and remove the link from this post. Your responses and help mean so much to me and I truly am grateful!

Sometimes I think about the future of self driving cars and how everyone I talk to about that future is like “okay but in an emergency we’ll be able to take back manual control, right?” and I usually placate them by saying, yeah, that’s totally how it’ll happen, but actually we’re already seeing the opposite. Cars with “self driving” features like steering and breaking that kick in and take control from the driver if the driver is about to rear end someone or is in a dangerous situation because the truth is computers can think faster and have better reflexes than us and I think about this going into the future and how if the self-driving cars are able to share their data with each other and learn from the driving experiences of every car on the road soon we’ll have cars that are so massively experienced at driving and avoiding accidents and making microsecond decisions and partial degree turns of the wheels and being so damn precise that automobile accidents will be almost unheard of and that’s when we’ll develop the most wasteful hilarious extreme sport in history where a single human driver will go up against an arena of ultra smart self driving cars and just by driving around recklessly try to coral them into crashing into each other and I tell you I would watch that sport all day.

White people should be banned from adopting transracially.

Kenya has approved an indefinite ban on adoption by foreigners. This needs to spread like wildfire…White people using Black and Brown children as disposable pretentious props has got to stop.

some facts to go with this post:

  • the young girl who died is called Hana Williams, her adoptive parents were Christians who adopted seven children and raised them with extremely hard punishments based on a Christian child raising book.
  • Hana died after being denied food and being shut out in the yard as a punishment.
  • This isn’t just about “white people”, it’s about white Christian Americans. An important distinction to make in this case.
  • Also important: The Kenyan adoption ban was in response to human trafficking, and not connected to problems in transracial adoption cases.
